SEND

At Central Lancaster High School, we pride ourselves on creating and upholding a happy, safe and secure environment where children's aspirations are raised and social and creative skills are supported.  Children with a wide range of special educational needs are successfully included in our mainstream setting, with varying degrees of support.

All pupils with SEN are fully timetabled within the school timetable including mixed ability sets in KS3 and, in the later years, the option groups for the KS4 curriculum.

The school receives additional funding for pupils with an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan. We also have links to the Local Authority and other specialist support agencies who complement our own experience and expertise in meeting the needs of all of our children with special educational needs, including the assessment of any child whose needs may emerge during their time at CLHS.

A SEND Drop-in Clinic is offered weekly on a Thursday in Week A and a Tuesday in Week B from 4-6pm to offer helpful support and advice.
