Welcome Year 6!

We are thrilled you will be joining us in September 2021 for five wonderful years of learning and experiences all focused on our three core values of commitment, creativity and community; our 3Cs.

Between now and July our transition team will spend time getting to know you so that we can support your 'transition' from primary to secondary education - what an exciting time!

We will spend time with your primary teachers and support staff, arrange to speak to your parents and you (the most important) so that you can share with us what you're most looking forward to about joining our school.

To help us get in touch with your families please ask your parents/guardians to complete the form below with their contact details.

Time Capsule Challenge

Complete one of the following time capsule challenges. Points will be awarded to the House you are assigned to when you join us on New Intake Day and the best entries will also receive a prize.

Challenge 1 Commitment: 50 points
Write a short article about your experiences of lock downs during the pandemic. You should consider; what learning was like at home or in school (if you attended) during this time, what you missed the most about school, how you celebrated special occasions in your household and what you most look forward to about returning to normal.

Challenge 2 Creativity: 50 points
Create a piece of art that demonstrates your life in lock down. You could use drawing, painting or collage techniques for your image or even include all three!

Challenge 3 Community: 50 points
Interview a member of your community about their experience of lock down. How did they adapt? What did they enjoy or learn about themselves during lockdown? Maybe they learnt a new hobby. Put your interview findings into a poster or interview script.

How can I get my competition entry to you?

  1. Email it to transition@lancasterhigh.lancs.sch.uk
  2. Ask a relative to drop it off in our main reception (make sure it has your name on and is labelled for the attention of Mrs Crossman)
  3. Pass it on to a friend or sibling who attends Central Lancaster High School.

Good luck!
